Spring 2023


I think Spring has finally sprung after the wettest March in 40 years!


However, we now look optimistically towards the beginning of May with the Coronation of Charles III.  There are two main events being held in the Cheselbourne Village with the village Hall at its centre.

Firstly, a photographic exhibition running at the hall the whole of the Coronation weekend, opening at 5pm with a drinks reception on Saturday 6th May and running on Sunday 7th and Monday 8th.  The photos featured are the work of Lucy Sewell a renowned photographer who lives in the  village, the stars of the photos are the residents of the village.  Even if you haven't had your photos taken, do come along and view your friends and neighbours!  Photos will be available to purchase and a copy will be shared with Dorset Museum as a historic record of the village in the Coronation year.

We are also hosting a 'bring your own picnic' event from 12 noon till 4pm on Monday 8th May.  A great time to socialise with other members of the village.  Tea, coffee and cakes will also be available.

Running the hall and heading up the events are a small number of volunteers, we are also always on the look out for new members for the Village Hall Committee and ideas on events we can hold - so please email me if you would like to contribute.

CHESELBOURNE VILLAGE HALL in the picturesque countryside of Dorset provides an ideal venue for functions, parties and meetings.

  • The hall has a fully equipped kitchen, hall and toilets and is fully accessible and heated.
  • The hall furniture can be arranged to meet a variety of needs.
  •  Off road parking is available in front of the hall
  • We also have a small field that can be used for outside events or to supplement events in the actual hall

The Post Office is at the Village Hall every Thursday from 1.30 to 3.30pm.  Services offered include all postage services, banking transactions and cash withdrawal.  Please use the service or we will lose it !!
